Bloodwork

Talk through current feeding plan
How often and where your baby is being fed is important. Checking your baby's oral function is key to ensure they are efficient. It's important to ensure that pumping is being done optimally.
Physical
Exam
Some anatomical factors can influence milk supply. Assessment of you and your baby help us determine if you have any of those barriers.
Your care plan and recommendations are very specific to your situation and needs.
Low milk supply can be caused by factors such as thyroid issues, anemia, PCOS, insulin resistance, insufficient glandular tissue, nutritional deficiencies, breast and other surgeries, low prolactin levels and much more. When the goal is to increase milk production we dive deep into your lab results and symptoms to identify the cause (or causes). Our suggestions could include prescribed medications, herbal supplements, therapies, specific feeding plan changes, addressing concerns with the baby and more. Let us be your one stop! Our nurse practitioner can order the lab work that you need and prescribe needed medications cutting out the need for the middle man saving you time and possible pushback from other providers. I am a nurse practioner and international board-certified lactation consultant (IBCLC) with 6 years of experience in lactation, about 8 years in maternal-child health, and 3 years of “momming” and breastfeeding my own 2 kids. I am currently working on my master’s degree to become a women's health nurse practitioner, which will allow me to provider a greater level of lactation care. I have a diverse background, working in a variety of settings with a wide demographic of patients. Some of my special interests are preventative lactation, tethered oral tissues (TOTs), over-supply, inducing lactation, and hybrid feeding.
I believe that pregnancy and lactation are innate processes, and I love to explore root cause and natural solutions whenever complications arise. I am passionate about expanding equitable access to quality care for pregnant and breastfeeding families. Pregnancy and breastfeeding will likely be some of the most vulnerable times in your life, which is why I encourage families to build an army of support-it really does “take a village”. I look forward to meeting and supporting you through your journey.
