When to Replace Your Pump Parts

Replacing your pump parts is necessary in order to keep you pump working well. If you are having issues with milk output at the pump suddenly this is the first thing to check on before panicking about your milk supply.

If you express more than 4 times per day:

Duck Valves: Every month

Membranes: Every 2-4 weeks

Backflow Protectors: Every 3 months

Breast Shields: Every 6 months

Tubing: If moisture builds up or it slips easily off the pump


If you express 1-2 times per day:

Duck valves: Every 2-3 months

Membranes: Every 2 months

Backflow protectors: Every 6 months

Breast Shields: Replace as needed

Tubing: If moisture builds up or it slips easily off the pump



If your duckbill valves have a little crack in the seal, be sure to replace those right away!
